2023 Recreational Cup InformationPrintable

What is the Recreational Cup?

The Recreational Cup is the WYSA State Tournament exclusively for U13-U19 recreational teams. The tournaments preliminary games are held within each respective associations area in October and November with the D2 Final games being held prior to Thanksgiving. The D2 champions will then proceed to the State Quarterfinals the first weekend in December, with the semi-finalists moving on to the second weekend in December to play semi-finals and finals.

Who May Enter?

Please review the State Rules for Recreational Cup link at the bottom of this page for eligibility.

What is Recreational Soccer?

This cup is open to recreational teams only. A recreational team is defined as any team where the use of tryouts, invitations, recruiting or any like process to roster players selectively on the basis of talent or ability is prohibited. Individual associations will determine whether teams fit the recreational classification. Your tournament roster is your registered team for the current league season - no guest players allowed for individual matches. However, there is a new option this year to help teams that struggle to pull together enough players for the tournament! You may add up to five players from another recreational team in the same club that plays in the same league, but has decided not to participate in the Cup. Players may only be rostered to one tournament team, and as in previous years, your tournament roster must be frozen before the first weekend of games.
